It’s been more than 10 years in the making, but on Tuesday officials, including U.S. Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine), finally broke ground on the City of Sanford’s new Central Fire Station and EMS headquarters on Main Street.
The new $17.2 million station will serve as the central fire station for the city, replacing the other central station farther up Main Street.
