Sen. Collins and King introducing bill to reauthorize Kay Hagan Tick Act

The bill’s introduction comes amid recent research that identified the Midcoast as the epicenter of the parasite’s activity with at least 45% of adult ticks testing positive for Lyme.

“The habitat is there for the ticks in that area. There’s deciduous forest and plenty of deer for the ticks to feed upon. That warmer coastal climate is conducive to their activity and allows them to survive over winter,” said Sen. Susan Collins.
