Senator Susan Collins, Bangor City Manager Carollynn Lear and Maine DOT Commissioner Dale Doughty were guest speakers at the ceremony.
“This is a major accomplishment of the airport. It helped to repair part of the runway that really needed attention. It also helps to upgrade the airport,” says Collins.
The newly rehabilitated runway was updated to better serve important airport resources, with expectations to serve roughly one million commercial flight passengers by 2030.
