Three members of Congress who represent Maine and New Hampshire met with U.S. Secretary of the Navy John Phelan for a tour Thursday of the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, marking Phelan’s first visit to a public shipyard since his confirmation as secretary.
Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, explained the tariffs on aluminum and steel will have a lower cost impact at PNSY, since the yard does not build ships from scratch.
