Maine Republican Senator Susan Collins is opposing President Donald Trump’s tariffs, especially on Canada.
But she is siding with the Trump administration against Maine allowing transgender athletes to participate in girls’ sports.
In a statement, Collins wrote:
“Safe and fair athletic competition has been one of the keys to the success of Title IX. That is why I do not believe that transgender athletes should compete in girls and women’s athletics.”
