Republican U.S. Sen. Susan Collins joined firefighters, first responders and grieving families in Augusta on Saturday to honor Maine firefighters who died over the past year, beginning what could be one of the most consequential weeks of her reelection campaign.
Collins delivered remarks during the annual Firefighter Memorial Service at the Maine Fallen Firefighters Memorial, where more than 100 firefighters, family members, first responders and state and local officials gathered to remember those who dedicated their lives to protecting Maine communities.
