This morning the Senator stopped for breakfast at Guidi's Diner in Westbrook. It was the prefect place for the Senator to chat with her constituents and have a wonderful blueberry muffin. After breakfast, Senator Collins headed over to Disability RMS for a tour. Following the tour the Senator drove to the South Portland Community Recreation Center for a meet and greet before the Bingo festivities began. The weekly Bingo group was excited to speak with the Senator and to show her their creative Halloween costumes.

With eleven days until election day Sen. Susan Collins set out on Friday for
a day of campaigning in Hancock and Waldo Counties. The day began with a
luncheon in Ellsworth. This was the final Women's Luncheon of the campaign
and it was a roaring success. More than 90 women joined Senator Collins at the
Holiday Inn in Ellsworth to enjoy a delicious lunch and share some thoughts
about the problems facing this country today. In her remarks to the group
the Senator discussed energy issues and the challenges facing our economy. After
lunch the Collins Bus headed for several stops in Waldo County. First was
Stockton Springs with stops are Perry' Store and Just Barb's Restaurant.
Then we traveled on to Searsport where we met some friends and supporters at
Anglers Restaurant, Tozier's Market and a quick walk down the Main Street.
Our final stop was in Searsmont with a visit to Patchwork Plus and the Old
Mill Diner. The Senator finished the day at the Maine Military Historical
Society Annual meeting where she received the Charles Dick Medal of Merit
Award.

It was a wonderful day of campaigning in some beautiful Maine communities.

Monday afternoon the Collins for Senator Bus stopped in Lincoln for lunch at one of the Senator’s favorite restaurants, Gillmor’s. Members of the Lincoln community joined Senator Collins for a fantastic lunch. Among the Senator’s supporters present at lunch were the restaurants owners Cathy and Charles Gillmor and Doug Walsh and Keith van Scotter of Lincoln Paper & Tissue. The great food and great conversation were topped off with Gillmor’s famous homemade ice cream for dessert.

There could not have been a better day for the Collins bus tour. The sun was out, the temperature was pleasant, and the bus was full of supporters eager to spend the day with Senator Collins in Oxford County. The first stop on Friday's docket: a walk through downtown Rumford. Senator Collins visited the town office, fire department and Davis Florist shop and was greeted cordially at each stop as she was provided the opportunity to answer the questions most pressing on voter's minds. For lunch, Senator Collins enjoyed a steak salad at Brian's Bistro. After lunch, the campaign bus rolled into Andover and the Senator toured Mills Market. But what is a trip to Oxford County without visiting Hanover and Newry? In Hanover, the Collins for Senator bus made a stop at Gordie Howe's quick store where the Senator was treated to homemade chocolate chip cookies. Afterward, Senator Collins stopped into The Bear River Trading Post where she spoke with a young girl who has diabetes. Senator Collins then met with Dutch Dresser and Les Otten of Maine Energy Systems, a developer of new wood pellet technology. After touring Maine Energy Systems, Senator Collins concluded the day's bus tour with a perusal of Ruthie's Dress Shop and a wonderful meet and greet at the elegant Bethel Inn.

Senator Collins and her supporters stopped by the Damariscotta Pumpkin Fest and Regatta on Monday to take part in the fun. It was a great stop on the bus tour and despite the light rain crowds were gathered from all over Maine to watch the races.

Saturday, Senator Collins and a bus full of her supporters spent the day on Mount Desert Island. The day began with a stop at the Maine Grocers Association Annual Fall Conference in Bar Harbor and continued at the Southwest Harbor Oktoberfest. It was a beautiful day to spend on MDI.
