    Tom Allen has yet another opportunity to live up to his pledge that this campaign is "no place for the politics of personal destruction"

    PORTLAND – A group affiliated with MoveOn.Org and funded in part by partisan billionaire George Soros has launched another attack ad against Senator Susan Collins. The new ad, run by MoveOn.org affiliate VoteVets.Org, attempts to distort Senator Collins' record. This is the latest in a series of ads, which are paid for by out-of-state, special interest political groups, to attack Senator Collins since 2007. These same groups have already spent more than $1 million on attack ads against Senator Collins. Tom Allen recently said that such ads do not belong in Maine, but he has yet to denounce any of the negative attack ads that have run, and are currently running, against Senator Collins.

    PORTLAND, Maine-- U.S. Senator Susan Collins' reelection campaign today released fundraising figures for the second quarter of 2008. Final numbers filed today with the FEC show the campaign raised a total of $1,056,469, which began April 1st and ended June 30th. The Collins for Senator campaign reported it has raised a total of $6,583,983, and that it has more than $5.133 million cash on hand. In addition, this is the 6th consecutive quarter that the Collins for Senator campaign has raised more than its closest competitor.

    PORTLAND, ME—Senator Susan Collins’ reelection campaign has filed its first quarter Federal Election Commission (FEC) report, which shows that she raised $832,075 in the first quarter of the year, bringing her cash on hand to $1,203,690. The report also shows that her campaign expenditures were only $64,042. At the same time, Senator Collins maintained her perfect voting record in the U.S. Senate.
